I've posted this in the Ask the Agent section, but while I wait for a response, I'd like to hear what my fellow writers have to say. I'm about to give my agent 60 days' notice that I want to end our business relationship, as required in my contract.

My question: Is it OK to begin querying other agents during those 60 days? The queries would be for a different novel than the one my agent represents.

I'm certainly not any type of lawyer, but if your present contract gives the agency rights to represent other of your works, I can't see how you could, or would want to, query other agents on a different novel until such time as your contract termination is officially accepted by your agency --- get it in writing.
