Other than her father, who was the single most wealthy person on her world and effectively it’s dictator, nobody is “better off” than her in terms of money. Since her father is dead, she now owns everything he built, meaning nobody is better off than her socioeconomically. So for the “better off” part of the question I will extend the meaning of “better off” beyond the material and to those who have things her life lacks (at least at the start of the story): meaningful relationships and a family.
People who have those things she internally envies, as she misses her father dearly, and deep down longs for friendships, but outwardly she scoffs at those people as plebs and peasants at best, or phonies who are just as selfish and terrible as her, but just lie to those they “care” about and even themselves about that fact. Other people’s happiness makes her miserable, and she delights in making happy people feel as hollow and small as she does on the inside. Thus, she treats them with contempt and scorn, and looks down her nose at them in an effort to make them feel small or worthless.
By the same token, she finds the plight of the poor and the masses to be absolutely hillarious. She knows her wealth comes from sheer dumb luck, and revels in the fact that she lives a devilishly luxurious and gluttonous life at the expense of the masses. She loves making people worse off than her feel poor, and rubs all her privileges in their faces at any opportunity she can. She delights in actively tormenting those with less than her, and being the vile troll she is does so simply to laugh at and have fun with their reactions.
