I'm sure we have a few people on here who can answer your question better than I can, but as I recall most of the French Quarter wasn't as flooded as other parts of NO. Jackson Square was where President Bush gave his speech after Katrina.

Alleycat is approximately 100% correct. The French Quarter, being the original settled area and next to the river, is located on the highest ground in NO. It never flooded.

I can't help you with Pearls.

Try this Site. It shows all the flooded areas.

Inside, up the stairs and to the left.
I went on a service project there a while after the storm. I don't know about Pearls, but the French Quarter was absolutely fine. The lower 9th ward took the most damage of anywhere. I'm sure you could find it online somewhere, though. Good luck.
