To sell my house.
Overcome discouragement.
Get a job.
Continue with studies.
Get my health back. (#1: because if I can't have that again, the rest is going to be really hard)

In 2009 I will:

1. Finish the rough draft of my WIP
2. Edit this draft and whip it into something query ready
3. Buy more new books.
4. Read more books- I'm hoping for six per week

Well Jess if you aim to read six books a week when are you going to make time to write?

1. Do more reading, too. I barely did any last year.
2. Write a several non-fiction essays, if possible.
3. Write another experimental/unsaleable novel.

1. Research the short fic market and sell a short story.
2. Find a job.
3. Assert my independence.

When I should be sleeping, of course

Seriously though, 75% of the books I plan on reading are YA/Middle Grade. They tend to take anywhere from 30min-4 hours (for monsters like the later Harry Potter books). My WIP has morphed into that genre and I'm not as familiar with it as I'd like to be.

I have to say, I'm loving it so far. A Series of Unforutunate Events is soooo cute... and depressing. I so wish they had these books when I was a kid. Oh, and I've rediscovered old favorites, like Dealing with Dragons.

My writing goals for 2009 are:

Complete 2nd draft of current WIP
Have both of the 2 completed novels out on submission at all times!
