New Question of the Week:

You're about to leave for a remote location, for two years. You won't have access to the Internet, libraries or bookstores. You can bring a total of five books with you (for reading, not for survival etc.).

What five books would you bring?

These are mine.

1. The Norton Anthology of English Literature Vol. I (800–1660)
2. Bird identification field guide for the area
3. The Fannie Farmer Cookbook: Anniversary edition
4. The American Heritage Dictionary
5. The Lord Of the Rings

That's actually quite the question!

I hope you accept box sets because I'd take:
Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy; trilogy of five
Fight club
The colour of magic (Terry Pratchett)
Cat's Cradle
And my final book would be a random new one that I'd save and not read until at least one year had passed so I didn't go insane. Of your list I'd pick The Lord of the Rings I'm actually reading that now and really enjoying it!

I have a parrot named Trevor, he loves to be part of everything I do. Clingy but lovable. His favourite word is Sarah.

NO way haha that must be very soothing to hear whilst you're trying to concentrate XD Maybe I'll get one and teach it to give me motivational speeches

Let us know what you think when you finish.

My older brother is still, decades letter, annoyed because at 11 or 12 I skipped the middle book (he didn't own it) and read the third.

Not where you last saw me.
Only five, huh? hmm.

1. A field guide to edible plants of the area.
2. LOTR
3. The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
4. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (it's one large volume)
5. A book of collected poems—probably something like Wade in the Water (Tracy K. Smith) or Wild Is the Wind (Carl Phillips) . . . or, maybe a well-bound journal for writing. (requires thought, this one)

The type of coffee is everchanging with me. It depends on type of day or writing mood I'm in. One minute I'm drinking a black americano then the next a salted caramel latte.

Mine is always black and strong, though I do make a concession to the power of caffeine when I switch to decaf in the evening.

Five books... that's difficult.

1. Going Postal, Terry Pratchett
2. Mistborn, Brandon Sanderson
3. Wolf By Wolf, Ryan Graudin (and it's sequel, if I magically found both books in one volume)
4. The Last Knight, Hilari Bell
5. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is on my TBR list, and I'll want something new at some point over two years.

I have had a pet- one cat, and two aquatic frogs. Also a few fish, but I don't remember much about them. Fish don't do much.

This is a good question. Generally, I almost never re-read any books. There is only one series that I have, the night angel trilogy by Brent Weeks. That said, I'll also assume I might be the only person there for a while.
So, I'll stick with that trilogy for sure.

1. The way of the Shadows
2. Shadows Edge
3. Beyond the Shadows
4. Sapiens (I haven't read this just yet, but it will allow for a lot of learning and questioning)
5. The Art of Seduction (Another book with a lot of information that I'll have ample time to dissect)

New Question of the Week:

A nice, easy one to start the new year: What superpower would you want and why?

Shape-shifting. With that, I think I could give myself most of the other super powers: I could be a bird to fly, I could be a wall to eavesdrop, could be a mite of some kind if I needed to be invisible, I could be Mongo if I needed to knock out a horse with one punch. Thanks for asking!

Teleportation, hands down. No sitting in traffic, no paying crazy airfare, no scaling mountains to see the view.
