I rec'd a (very nice) rejection from Andrea Somberg (Harvey Klinger agency) today. She said my first few pages "didn't draw in her as she'd hoped." Is it okay for me to reply, thank her for her kind note, and ask permission to resubmit after I've reworked my beginning? Or do I accept this as a final "no"? I'd appreciate any comments/help/suggestions. Thanks!

There's no harm in thanking her for her "kind note," but unless she specifically said she'd be interested in seeing a revised version, chalk it up as a NO and move on to the next. :)

Think that equates to the standard "no thanks" (unfortunately). If you look at the rejections forum you'll see there are a lot of rejections that are worded in much the same way.

My suggestion, rework your beginning anyway, ramp it up, and try someone else. Puma
