"The Logical-lust 2005 Erotic Flash Challenge
http://logical-lust.com

Flash fiction is the most testing, and challenging forms of writing. Make the subject erotica and it becomes a real trial! So to encourage, entice, and finally celebrate your very high standard of flashing prowess, here is the logical-lust Erotic Flash Challenge! and this year it's free to enter!

The list of prizes to be won is as follows (prizes shown in US$);

Best Overall Story $70
Runner-Up to Best Overall Story $20
2nd Runner-Uo to Best Overall Story $10

In addition to the above main prizes, there will also be the following special category prizes, which can be won separately from, or in addition to, the main prizes.

Most Original Content $20
Best Erotic Content $20
Funniest Entry $20

Prizes will be paid in US$ or the equivalent amount in your own currency. To receive non US or UK currencies you must have either a PayPal, MoneyBookers, or StormPay account.

JUDGING Subject matter will not be a criteria judged upon (except for the special category prizes). Flash fiction is about the ability to write a full story - beginning, middle, end, character description, structure, plot.., and of course erotica! - all within 250 words. Stories will be judged on this, plus spelling, grammar, and literary worthiness. So make sure you edit your stories properly!

Those who assist in judging the entries will only be sent the story and not the author's name, to ensure judging is on a level playing field.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY Stories must be of erotic flash fiction of up to 250 words maximum. You have freedom as to the subject matter, subject to these restrictions;

No rape. No consent-after-the-act. No bestiality, necrophilia, hate, racism, or under age sex, and nothing that could be construed as breach of any kind of copyright. The editor's decision will be final as to what entries are, or are not, suitable. The onus is upon you, the author, to submit in good erotic taste.

Submissions can be original work or previously published, but bear the following in mind;

All the prize winning stories will be published on Logical-Lust in a special contest feature, so make sure you own the copyright or are free to publish it elsewhere. If you don't own the copyright to a story or don't have permission, even if you wrote it, do NOT submit it as an entry. You will have to state whether your entries are original or currently published, and I can assure you - published material that reaches the short list for final decisions will be checked out by us for it's validity for the contest.

By entering the contest you agree to have your story published in Logical-Lust for a period of one year if it is one of the prize winners. Logical-Lust will take non-exclusive publishing rights to original prize winning stories so feel free to boast about it if it helps to get it published elsewhere! We only require that Logical-Lust is cited as the home of the story. Only the contest prize winning stories will be featured on Logical-Lust.

HOW TO ENTER Entry is by plain text file attachment to email only. In the attachment must be your full name and address, pen name (if using one), author bio, and your entry. One entry per file please, although you may attach 2 files to an email if you wish. In the file you must also state either of the following (whichever applies);

'I declare that I am the author of this unpublished story and I hold full rights to it.'
or
'I declare that I am the author of this published story and that I hold the rights, and permission, to have it published outwith its current publishing domain.'

Please make your email subject line 'LOGICAL LUST FLASH CHALLENGE' and send to [email protected]

Deadline for entries is May 31st 2005. Maximum of two entries per person."

Desdmona.com is pleased to announce the next contest. The 2005 Fragrant Flash Contest will open April 7. Entries will be accepted until June 1.

The challenge for this contest: write us a hot, sexy story, in 300 words or less, and include something that has to do with the sense of smell. It doesn’t matter what the aroma is – anything from perfumed bathwater to sexual pheromones to baking brownies is fine – just be sure to tickle our noses as well as our libidos.

When submitting stories for this contest to the FishTank, please label (*)Fragrant Flash instead of with a title. This is to alert possible judges that may be part of the FishTank to avoid this story.

Writers need to have so many skills these days. Even once you have written a wonderful spicy romance novella or novel -- how do you get it published? One of the key ingredients is a first page that grabs the reader and compels them to turn the page and keep on reading.

This contest, running in association with the e-zine Forbidden Fruit, is all about the first 500 words of a story. This may be the only 500 words, the beginning of something new or a short extract from a book you have already written. Write it, polish it, and refine it -- post it here, and be in to win a prize.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Write the first 500 (+/-50) words of an erotic romance story. Post your entry as a thread in this forum: http://veinglory.8.forumer.com/viewforum.php?f=16 along with a pen-name and a contact email address. You may post as a guest or join the forum as a member. If you prefer you may send the contact email by forum private message rather than posting it.

WHAT IS THE PRIZE?
One brand new copy of the Writer's Handook 2005 delivered to your door, or US$20 (by paypal only).

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE?
You must enter by May 31th 2005. The winner will be chosen by June 5th.

HOW WILL THE WINNER BE CHOSEN?
The winner will be chosen by the agreement of three unbiased judges based on one criterion: which book would we most want to read?

WHAT IS THE CATCH?
Inspecting my conscience thoroughly I can honestly say there isn't one. We will not use the entries in any way, claim any rights over them or charge any fees. The winner gets their prize delivered free to their door. Although entries must be posted on the forum you do not need to join or frequent the forum thereafter. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that the entries will be viewable in the forum for the period of the contest.

If you have any questions please ask them here: http://veinglory.8.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?p=1756#1756

Torquere Press

2nd Annual Do It Yourself! Writing Contest

That's right, May is here, and we all know what our thoughts turn to at
this time of the year! No, not May Day or Memorial Day.

Masturbation!

So write us a wanking story. Make it hot. Make it gay or lesbian. And
make it 1000 words or less. Remember, this is the 2nd annual, so we've
seen some great do it yourself stories in the past. Really wow us with
heat, sensuality, playfulness or angst. Really get a handle on how good
it feels to have a little time alone.

All entries must be received by May 20, 2005.

Each submission should contain your name, full contact information, a
statement of age (must be 18 or over to enter) and your story as an
inline email to [email protected]. Entries sent as
attachments will not be opened, and any entry sent to another email address will
be promptly deleted. Or you may fill out the form at:
http://www.torquerepress.com/contest/writingcontest.html

Winners will be announced May 31st and will be showcased on the
Torquere Press website during the months of June through August. We ask for
first electronic rights for these stories for the time they are posted.
By sending in your entry you are verifying that you own all rights to
your story, and that it is an original work by you, the author.

Prizes will be given for the top three entries, as chosen by the
editors at Torquere Press. First prize will be $25US, second prize will be
$15US and third prize $10US. Honorable mention winners will receive one
free ebook.

Have questions? Email us at [email protected]. Otherwise, get
out there and get writing, and show us how you do it!
