I haven't been on a plane in a while. They used to have the "fasten seatbelt" and "no smoking" signs, but do planes allow smoking anymore? Thanks.

No. Domestic airlines don't allow smoking. I don't think any international flights do either.

eta: The signs are still there, though.

And they do remind you during the announcements that there's no smoking, and tampering with the lavatory smoke detectors is a federal offense.

They still have ashtrays on the lavatory doors, though.

Some international airlines do allow smoking, but most have done away with that.

Haven't seen this either. I travel a lot internationally and am a smoker. But might be because most the flights I take are n and out of countries that don't allow it on planes.
