Alrighty There People!

Not sure if this is in the correct forum, but here goes...

I'm nearly finished my novel. I'm going to self publish it via Lulu.com - I've had success there before.

But I've been told to steer clear of Arial when I publish it. Now, the book is currently in Arial - but what font should I use?

Now, I know that this is down to personal preference much of the time, so if you are kind enough to reply, please state why you would recommend a particular font.

Many thanks in advance.

Proportional fonts with serifs are the easiest to read, and the majority of books are published in one of these. Stay away from the specialty fonts that look clever. If you are selling e-books, then Ariel and other plain (no serif) fonts are a good idea because they look better on cell phones and old monitors.

Other than that, I think the various choices have different "flavors." Some look elegant, some look restrained, some look edgy. I'd look for one that fit the tone of my book.
