Have you ever reached out to an author you didn't know personally, offered an ARC, and asked for a blurb? If so, how did it go? Are there authors out there who are known to be open to such a thing (especially in the thriller genre)?

Every time I've seen an author mention something like this, it's been along the lines of "I get so many requests, often phrased more as demands, and I simply don't have time/capacity/interest in answering them, much less reading the ARCs." So, I suspect reaching out to someone who doesn't know you or your writing would, at best, get a "sorry, no" and more likely just be ignored.
