Dutchie and I are watching old episodes of this show on ONS, the Dutch nostalgic TV station. This album is better than I remember...only about 3 skippable songs. And one of the three composers of this song went on to produce Bruce Springsteen's early stuff. Hence it's a tad funkier than the rest of the LP...

Aw, yeah, The Lost Boys.

We were speculating today that Jonathan Richman must have been on Sesame Street at some point because he's so perfect for it, and he wasn't, as far as I can find on the internet, but one of his songs was. This is so adorable:

When the moonlight shines down
On the Hollywood world,
And the heroine waits
For her beau to return,
And violins play
From behind garden walls,
How I'd love to remain
With the silver refrain
Of an old fashioned waltz

Ooh, I'll have to check this thread for some good song recommendations. In the meantime, I'll share one of my own.

Jeri Rossi - I Left My Heart But I Don't Know Where (1983)

I adore how downright queasy this song feels! The whining brass sounding like a door creaking open in the beginning then breaking into a warbling cascade of shrieks when the rest of the instruments hit is just *chef's kiss*. And Jeri does such a good job on the vocals with her deadpan delivery that transforms into a throat-ripping scream at around 1:35. Check it out if you're into uneasy music.
