Warhammer: The Old World

I was really down when Games-Workshop gave up the classic Warhammer Fantasy for the watered down version that was Age of Sigmar. I had multiple armies that were suddenly next to useless and had no desire to change out their bases.

Come almost ten years later, and they've all but re-started the classic Fantasy with The Old World. Not all the armies are available (And they seem to have decided to focus on most of the least popular ones at that), but I'm happy and excited for the hobby like I haven't been in a long time. I've even been scouring Ebay and picking up units for a whole new army, Beastmen! When I'll get to play, I don't know, but I've been assembling for a few weeks now and I even started painting again! Honestly, outside of video games, Warhammer Fantasy was the only real thing I've ever had that I would call a hobby. (I take my writing too seriously for that. ) It's nice to have something like that back.

Does anyone else play? Or at least carry an interest in it?

We had orc and goblin armies in our house – my SO painted them. He was into goblins, and I was into orcs. Now I don't have time or space to play, but I still love the fantasy orcs and the Warhammer 40k orks. Maybe the latter even more than the former! I was feeling a bit down in January and got a Warhammer 40k book about orks vs the forces of Chaos vs the Adeptus Mechanicus, and it helped me so much. I wish I had played Warhammer 40k orks back then. I think I still have the old codex books somewhere...

We're a D&D household but my daughter loves kit-bashing for her Warhammer friends. She has stacks and stack of minis but not sure how recent they are. She buys stuff on Amazon and her friends bring her stuff to paint and create.
