I've not had an issue with them. I published the first 2 books of my series with them and submitted the 3rd and final book to the editor working with me a few months ago. I've had the same editor for all 3 books, the first book having been published in 2021. Of course, there is more than one editor working on the manuscript, but she is the first and last one to work on it. I've always found their editing team to be top-notch.
As for the timeline, I submitted the synopsis and manuscript to her on Jan, 16th. By late February we were working on the edits. I submitted the final galley with my seal of approval in mid-April. Now we are waiting on the book cover design and release date. If I can expect the timeline for the book cover to be anything like it was the last two times, I'd wager it should be completed within the next two weeks. The release date will probably be set for a month or two out.
I don't know much about the Rose authors reviewing each other's books. That's not been brought to my attention at any time. And I don't know a lot about their paid services for publishing either. Anything I've submitted to them has been through traditional channels. Once in a blue moon, I've gotten on the loops with some of the other authors in the chatrooms. But I spend most of my time working on my books, so I really can't vouch for much of what's going on with the others, although the few times I've been in the chat rooms, I haven't seen anything negative. Both of my books are in print as well as digital. From the beginning, I understood from reading the submission guidelines that any manuscript of at least 45,000 words would be available in print. I didn't have any issues with them honoring that. That was important to me.
I think it all comes down to what one expects and wants for their writing. TWRP is a small press. The outcome I expected to get from them going in, is exactly what I got. I published with Decadent (another small press). The experiences were very similar. For me, good editing is very important, and I'm getting that from TWRP. I'm enjoying trying new things to grow my own audience, so the lack of marketing doesn't bother me. I expected that from a small press. The majority of them are the same with the lack of marketing.
