Bad Pennies Keep Turning Up department:
Myra Fiacco, founder of Filles Vertes Publishing (link to thread about this press here) is back with a new venture: Star Alley Press.
Some of you may remember that FVP closed last year, amid a flurry of complaints from authors owed royalties and staff owed salaries. According to Victoria Strauss of Writer Beware, Star Alley was incorporated a mere month after FVP closed down, and their upcoming release was originally contracted to FVP.
Star Alley has a peculiar business model in that they plan on producing only one novel a year, with an emphasis on "Hollywood, film, TV, stage and other performing arts." (More about their mission here.)
There are no staff or other personnel listed on the website (always a red flag). However, Fiacco is listed as the Registered Agent for the business in the State of Idaho.
