My agent, Anna Olswanger, has sold at least a few picture books to them. They're very, very legit.

One of the sales was listed in Publishers Marketplace as a "nice deal," which would indicate yes. But it was a couple years ago and things can always change.

I can't imagine an Agent of Anna's stature selling to a publisher that doesn't pay advances:) but just double checked in SCBWI's "The Book" and they do pay advances against royalties but are closed to unsolicited subs.

I'm familiar with their picture books and board books - they are on the shelves of bookstores big and small in my area. They have a lot of regionally-themed picture books for the Great Lakes area (Legend of Sleeping Bear, Tallulah - Mermaid of the Great Lakes, etc) and they are popular, well-produced, quality books. In the midwest they are distributed by Abraham Associates which has a sales team that visits stores, and their books are available through wholesalers like Ingram at industry standard terms.

Definitely legit.
