I'm 16.6k into a ~75k spy romance and it's a new subgenre for me. I'm hoping to get some feedback on whether to continue with this story!

Summary:

A nationless woman, raised to be a spy, achieves an espionage deep cover as the girlfriend of a top Big Tech executive in NYC. When she discovers that she's falling in love with him, she has to figure out what nation she works for, and the mystery of her origins, to save both of their lives.

What I need:

Feedback on the story and characters (just general feedback is fine -- do they work? Do you want to keep reading?).

Just a quick heads-up that AW defines a beta reader differently than this thread is using the term. From the AbsoluteWrite Dictionary: Beta, Beta Reader – From software’s term beta testing, the final reader of a completed and polished work before it is submitted or self-published. Works ready for beta reading have been thoroughly proofread and edited to make them publication ready.

There's nothing wrong with seeking feedback on your incomplete work, especially if you're not sure you should continue, but it's not a beta read.
