I don't see any publishing experience for the owner of the company. I do see a bit of discussion from him about the super, super, super duper high quality of their physical books, but I do not see that those books are in stores or anything else, or that all of their books are available as physical books at all.

I also see typos and grammatical errors in their blurb/cover copy. I do not see any excerpts, and frankly without excerpts the odds of a book selling to anyone but your friends and family are astronomically small.

In short it appears to be a typical start-up, run by people who really like books but don't really know how to produce them and/or sell them. Maybe they'll be a success, but unfortunately I doubt it.

Yet, they have a hardcover by Brian Keene. That surprised me.

Mr. Keene is in fact building his own imprint there -- Maelstrom: http://www.briankeene.com/?p=4642

With so much of the horror market being small/micro press aimed at "limited edition" collectors, Dorchester's demise is an opportunity for the savvier operations to pick up wider-known authors and get some traction in the trade.

Until yesterday, I would have said "strictly from amateur hour."

Now that Brian Keene is getting involved, I think there's more potential. Keene has a strong following and is extremely professional about his own work, which augurs well for an imprint he's heading.
