Generally speaking, there are just three places money can come from in publishing:

A charity, the readers, and the writer.

Very few publishers are charities.

Almost without exception legitimate publishers and agents get their money from readers.

Almost without exception those publishers and agents whose source of income is their writers fall somewhere in that vast wasteland between Bad Idea and Scam.

Remember Yog's Law: Money flows toward the writer.

Besides, "not recommended" means a person does not make a recommendation. Something that must surely be considered discretionary.

True, very true. But when that not recommended is coming from people who know what they're talking about, backed up by cold hard facts that might as well say 'stay away' and rightly so. I understand that P&E can only work with what they're given though, so again if any of those not recommended folks feel they don't deserve it, prove it. P&E would probably be the first ones to change their opinion.

Heh. I rather think "malicious" isn't a word I'd use at all, with reference to the P&E recommended/not recommended list. :)

God knows, Dave and I don't always personally see eye to eye about things - but I do absolutely believe that malice has nothing to do with P&E's motivations.

Drive the blade deep, up under the ribcage. Give it a hard twist as you pull it back out. That should do the trick.

Actually, I think with bloodsuckers you have to drive the blade directly into the heart and then stuff the mouth with garlic.

Best of luck, Dave!

Now, as a lawyer, I have to say this . . .

Don't be surprised if it is rescheduled. It is not uncommon to schedule 2 - 3 trials for the same day in anticipation that most will settle.

Now that said . . . GO GETTEM P&E!!

Dave, that's a very appropriate book title/cover at the bottom of your post.

Best of luck, mate.
