Praat Afrikaans?

Ek kan lees Afrikaans, maar ek hê iets oefening noedig om te praat or skryf.

Ek skryf oor Suid Afrika.

Groete van Taiwan! Ek is 'n Suid Afrikaner maar ek woon nou in Taiwan, waar ek 'n Engels onderwyser is. Ek kan Die Taal praat maar ek's 'n ware soutie; ek was in Pietermaritzburg ("The Last Colonial Outpost") gebore en my ouma en oupa het na Suid Afrika van Skotland af geimmigreer. Dis lekker om ander Suid Afrikaners in hierdie plek te sien

Ek is 'n nuweling hier so julle moet maar my handjie vashou. Ek is soort van tweetalig. My huistaal is eintlik Engels, maar albei my ouers is Afrikaans. Julle kan maar die gebroke gesprekke in my huis indink.

But anyway, I'm a student in Cape Town (best city on the planet) and can't wait to start writing more as well as getting more involved in the forums...

I was curious as to whether anyone here has been trying to write on some of the multifarious and interesting events currently taking place.

A second question (please accept my sincere apologies if this is the wrong place for this topic), are any South Africans here exceptionally clued-up about publishing agents in South Africa and/or any peculiar nuances of self-publication in SA?

I understand afrikaans better than I can speak it. I have a terrible accent and cannot roll my Rs. Despite having an afrikaans surname. I am very much a rooinek.
I know little about self-publishing locally. I hardly get any work locally these days. All my clients are overseas. :/
