Haw, no idea... that's too big a question for a Wednesday...


ANYway, I got off to a slow start today, but that was by design. 400 words in a mini-session of roughly 20 minutes or so. I'll get back to my keyboard later today.

Calling it today at 1,718. MC has taken a look around the outside of the house and met her new neighbor at the house she's renting in town, who has shanghaied her into dinner whether she likes it or not.

Only 908. BUT... I didn't do any prep before tonight, so I also spent a couple hours revising my outline and fixing my notes and rereading a chapter to help me remember what the hell I was doing when I last picked this up in 2021. So, you know, not an inconsequential night's work. I kept finding little ways to put off the part where I actually start writing again, but to my great relief my brain was ready when I called on it. (I was not sure it would be.) I just started rolling. I would also like to note that I feel fantastic, which is what always happens after I come back my writing when I've been away from it. And it's always a surprise.

Brains are fun.

My dailies here won't 100% sync up with the NaNo site, since I need to make sure I update before the day rolls over there.

Anyway, day 1 was 2,447 words, bringing me to 2,457 total (which includes the cover page)

Calling today at 3556. Usually like to be at 5000, but it's a slower few days. Plus I'm pantsing this, so I don't have as much to work off of to get me further.

Day two, and I've hardly had time to write today. I kinda enjoy the whole NaNoWriMo concept, but I wish the official month would be somewhere around July, August, September instead of November... oh, well.

1517 words.

Another 900 words once I finally got started tonight. Before that a tiny bit more that I added to yesterday's words because I had to fix something. (Yes, against the rules, but who cares.) Grand total of 1,937.

Even with my outline, there's still a lot of figuring important plot things out as I go, and if I need to fill a hole that I can see the next day, I will fix it. It did add the word count, and I did the math to figure out the extra words so I'd add them to today's total. (God bless word processor word count features) Maybe one of these nights I'll get serious before it's almost bedtime and do some real damage.
