Let me guide you a little, mike landrum. The place to post your introduction is the
New Members thread--that blue text tells you it's a link you can click on. I like to make it bold font so it shows more, but not everyone does.
What you might say about yourself as a newcomer is covered
here. It's suggestions, not mandatory material each person must cover. The basic idea is that you tell us a little about yourself, what you write, what you hope to gain from and give to AbsoluteWrite's community of writers.
We always recommend new people read the
Newbie Guide and
the FAQs, although it seems few actually bother. Those who do may have a bit of a head start in figuring out how things here work.
So after you've introduced yourself, you want to check out the board where those who write memoirs are likely to be found. That would be
Bio, Autobio, and Memoir.
You can find all these places by clicking on Forums at the top of any AW page, just to the right of center. It lists all the main forums--there's a lot!--and a brief description of each. You are encouraged to take your time looking around, not necessarily sticking to the one thing you write. You'll find helpful people all over the place.
Maryn, pleased to meet you
