:hooray:, Maggie!

Day 26: 2556
Total: 57,759

Bleh. I was able to keep it up for today but I am just so feckin' tired right now. Just about finished with the month, but not the story. Still quite a bit that needs to happen and be resolved before I can call this particular project over.

Blerch. I had a later start than I'd planned and I'd gotten to a really good point in this particular scene, but I need to put it off and work on it again in the morning. I need to finish packing and various other things for a trip to my sister's place tomorrow, and then I'll need to get to bed. I'll have a few hours quiet time on the bus ride there and I rarely get any sleep while traveling, so I'll have the MacBook handy and work then.

Day 27 total is 86,523, and the first draft is done! This year went much more smoothly than last year, for many reasons. This was a story I'd wanted to write for a while, I did not start each session by re-reading/touching up last sessions writing (unless I left off mid-chapter), and I took as many opportunities as possible to head to my local library and write without any of the distractions of home.

My full record, since I didn't actually end up posting here every day:
11/01 - 5030 (5030)
11/02 - 2241 (7271)
11/03 - 5283 (12554)

Whoops, apparently I missed more days updating than I thought.

Day 26: 2226
Day 27: 1945
Day 28: 1441
Day 29: 1042

Total: 48,529

So, barring disaster, I'll finish tomorrow.

Oh, I'm reaching the sixties today. The story's end is nowhere in sight, though the first book should be finished before tomorrow.

currently I've killed a the twin sister of one of the main characters(past event, they did one of those 'You'll be me and I'll be you' tropes so the alive one feels a guilty and all), and had her suffer through the memory of that and have another character save her before she kills herself. It was the fun part, at least up until she gets saved. Cause I suck at action scenes and that's what's happening right now.

Yay!

It's actually my lowest NaNo count since I started (by a couple of hundred words), but 50k is still 50k.

Finished the book with 61415 words. But man, the ending was lousy. Gonna fix it... later.

BTW. congratulations to the winners(that includes me) and those who didn't, congratulations to them too for writing on.

Still not finished with the story, but I'm finished with it for now. I'm probably going to go back to the project I was working on before November (which is probably last year's NaNo project) and keep going with that. In the meantime, I think I need to go to bed.

Day 30: 1612
Total 50050

Whew! Gonna go Netflix now. :greenie

Dang it, Pasty, you wrote 45 too many words, that's not a numerical palindrome at all. DISQUALIFIED I SAY FOR BREAKING THE UNSPOKEN ALMOST-A-PALINDROME RULE.

(But really, congratulations everyone for hitting those word goals!)

Right? And writing MORE words than the absolute bare minimum? What was I thinking! I'm gonna have to do some extra couch time to make up for it.

At least a month's worth of couch time. Thankfully that's apparently juuust long enough to get through the new Scorsese film on Netflix. Enjoy your well deserved break!

You too! Cuz I know you worded hard for NaNo. And, yep, I just watched that Scorsese flick. It was so long, I fell asleep. Pretty efficient use of my couch-potato time, if I do say so myself. :tongue
