Quelle joie! Un forum où chacun peut discuster dans sa langue maternelle! Il y a peu de mentions du français jusqu'à maintenant. *regarde autour et recherche d'autres francophones.*
Just be aware, some of us can read French, and understand it, but not speak it.
I used to have a roomie whose first language was French, and was often (justly) accused of understanding what she said. It's a great skill for a spy--I can play the perfect clueless English-speaking person, yet understand what was said. Mwahahahah!
Seriously, though, maybe there could also be a place for those of us clueless English speaking folks who are trying to learn another language? Or to pracitce the ones we do know? Heck, maybe I'll try and turn out some writing in French, which I haven't really used since high school!
I'm not wanting to "take over the forum," mind, but I'm conscious that while we want and expect non-English speaking persons to learn English, we often don't return the favour (and it is a favour, when someone chooses to learn your language in order to communicate with you) ourselves.
Says Ruth, who has French-speaking friends who speak English, and wants to learn Spanish too.
