Does this mean you're all willing to learn portuguese now?

But, Miss, I can't speak English properly, so my dad keeps clipping me round the ear with. *sniffs* I'll get my coat...

Italian, a lass just spoke Italian up there. I wish we had audio with with this. Italian is just so damn sexy, be it whether it falls from a lad or ladette's lips.

Concrat's, SaraP. ;) Brand new forum, brand new mod. Woo-hoo spoiling spree...:D

Edit: What misspelling? Ain't no misspellings here. *walks away whistling*

Congrats Sara for having your own district. Since people have started migrating into it from all over, I suggest that we hold a referendum as to what shall be the official language for this district.
Or should we hold elections. I love to see the politicos fight over nothing.

Proud to be a spoiler.

PSSST....Sara, who did you bribe to make it so far, so fast ;)

noi ban-iamo
voi ban-iate

Va bene. Andiamo, Sara! In bocca al lupo!

Serious question:

Poet, Sara, I post frequently on another ESL forum and they have seperate threads dedicated to each language (Itallian only, Portugese only). Are you thinking of doing something similar with this one?

Português:

Eu bano
Tu banas
Ela/Ela bana
Nós banimos
Vós banis
Eles/Elas banem

Hmmmm ... I'm hungry. For some reason I want a banana. :D

Also, I see an H. :evil

Fallen, for now, I think we're just going with the flow. I don't think there are enough people on here who speak portuguese (or italian or any other foreign language) to justify separate threads for it.

Suggestions are more than welcome though. Keep 'em coming!

I say we move to Venice or Rome.

Except we move to the one in US, just to say we speak a different language when we actually don't. ;)

I know a lot of 'English' speaking people are always after Latin translations for their writing...You could have a section dedicated to that? I know that usually goes on in Research and Expert thread, might make sense to have it in here maybe...?

vos semper amo Rufus et OneW.

Okay so that was maybe a little stalkerish...Lol

Quelle joie! Un forum où chacun peut discuster dans sa langue maternelle! Il y a peu de mentions du français jusqu'à maintenant. *regarde autour et recherche d'autres francophones.*

Just be aware, some of us can read French, and understand it, but not speak it. :D

I used to have a roomie whose first language was French, and was often (justly) accused of understanding what she said. It's a great skill for a spy--I can play the perfect clueless English-speaking person, yet understand what was said. Mwahahahah!

Seriously, though, maybe there could also be a place for those of us clueless English speaking folks who are trying to learn another language? Or to pracitce the ones we do know? Heck, maybe I'll try and turn out some writing in French, which I haven't really used since high school!

I'm not wanting to "take over the forum," mind, but I'm conscious that while we want and expect non-English speaking persons to learn English, we often don't return the favour (and it is a favour, when someone chooses to learn your language in order to communicate with you) ourselves.

Says Ruth, who has French-speaking friends who speak English, and wants to learn Spanish too.
