Kiwi IRC hostmasks like Mibbit, so it will hide your IP as well.

Mibbit has been down, for me, for the last 24 hours. To connect to Kiwi IRC....

1. https://kiwiirc.com/
2. Click Try Me button (right side).
3. Click Add a Network.
4. Copy/Paste one of the above addresses into the "Server" field.
5. Pick a nickname. Click Connect to Network.

Once Connected....

6. If you have a registered nick, ID to Nickserv. Click on the StarChat name (black area). ID in Message window.
7. Join #AbsoluteWrite. Mouse over StarChat (black area). Click the + that appears. Type in the channel then hit enter key.
8. Click on #AbsoluteWrite (black area), under StarChat.

Yesterday was my first time using Kiwi. It takes a day to get used to, but it works well. I learned, today, you just have to open the Kiwi site. As long as your use the same IP, StarChat and #AbsoluteWrite entries should be there. Just click on StarChat (black area) and follow prompts to connect.

This is a great feature that Mibbit did not have.

Downside of Kiwi, you have to constantly click on the text/edit/message box to type. Slight inconvenience.

Mibbit's back up, after a few days down. This is a nice backup option.
