Is Lore Lush a real publisher? I found them while job searching but they don't seem to be real? If anyone has ANY info, please share. Or least let this be a beware? I don't know what they do but they're posting jobs.

Their website says they're not looking to hire, and they have about a dozen imprints but not a single published book that I've found, nor any info about the team behind it other than they're female and a vet.

Pass.

Their "About" page lists no personnel, so there's no way of knowing the qualifications of the staff. Their website shows umpty-bump imprints for the press, but I can't find a single published title anywhere on the site.

LinkedIn shows that the company is based out of Hope Mills, NC. A search of NC based corporations turns up Lore Lush LLC, which according to the company's page, was dissolved. I can't find any other corporate entities with Lore Lush in the name. The registered agent of the dissolved LLC agent was one Angel Murray, whose page on LinkedIn lists her as Lore Lush's owner. Unfortunately, that page contains no other information. The most recent entry on their Facebook page was from 2020, from someone who had been trying to submit to the website but failing. Other than that, the most recent entries date to 2018. Their Twitter page hasn't been updated since last year.

I was finally able to find a number of titles on Goodreads, spanning a period from 2011 to April 2021, but nothing since then. Looks like their more recent publication schedule was about 2-3 books per month, but based on the Goodreads page, only the single April title in 2021.

The press could be a casualty of COVID times, but looks to me like it was struggling prior to that. Where did you see a job posting for the company, @JustWonderin ?

ETA: I was able to find Angel Murray's/Lore Lush Facebook page, where she states:

I am a writer of UF and PNR and am a USAF Vet & Spouse with a BS in Business Management. Books are my passion. I love everything about them. Seriously. I might have a problem.

This is why I started Lore Lush Books.

I began with Lore Lush Book Reviews and while I still do reviews, I wanted to do more. I wanted to connect the reader to the author and the writer to the agent and so on.

So...no trade publication experience from the owner, other than starting LLB.

Still, at least it lists her military background, which stops me from digging deeper to find out if 'vet' is military person, or animal doctor. Or, I suppose, in the case of K-9, both.
But yeah, loving books is not a qualification for handling other people's careers and money.
(Traditionally, those who 'love books' become librarians or owners of bookstores.)

They pop up on my goggle job alerts monthly. As of 3 days ago there are postings for a publishing assistant, an editor, and a publicist. These jobs are not listed on their site and I even tried to email them to see if I could get some kind of response but the email just bounced back as undeliverable.

No clue why the jobs consistently pop up on other sites?
