An artist friend of mine has gotten an offer for a 5-year non-exclusive license agreement/contract. This is her first, so she really needs to get it vetted by someone who knows the business & can say whether the offer is fair or has traps in it. I don’t know anyone who has that experience. Can someone recommend how she can find someone to consult?

When people call the law office for something we don't practice, I tell them to Google whatever flavor of attorney they actually need. I was shocked to discover that "art law" is its own category. So I'd say do a search for "art law attorney" and see what pops up.

Brigid is right: your friend needs an attorney who specialises in this. And, particularly, one who practices in the country where your friend has got the offer from, as I suspect such things will vary geographically.

If you google 5-year non-exclusive license agreement/contract artist it will throw up some hits that may lead to locating such an attorney?

Google is, indeed, a magical thing for finding people. Of course, you can be not-stellar and get good search results by utilizing the witchcraft needed to do SEO. So just because you find a lawyer above the fold, doesn't mean they're a good one.

Your friend should be speaking to people in their local artist community for recommendations. Like my (very small) city has a neat art gallery that also does classes and has workshop space, so I would contact them for a recommendation (if I was in a similar situation).
