E-books and e-reader apps. I get the book fast (mentioned upthread) and can enlarge the text as needed, bounce between devices without losing my place, look up weird words, and more. Pretty cool!

I like that about reading on my ipad! Also, I can take a whole library of books with me when I travel. No need to commit to what I will be in the mood to read next or bring several (heavy) books along in case I finish the current one while on the road.

About the only thing I don't like about e-readers are that I don't feel safe taking it to the beach unless one of us stays with our stuff, guarding it. Not that we spend a lot of time at the beach. Last year, I finished my book way too fast and the resort area had pretty slim pickings for new reads.

I worry most about the sand, honestly. But then I have an geriatric tolino which I assume no one will want to steal.
