Introduction and Beta reading

Hello Everyone,
My name is VIN.
I typically write psychological, dystopian, horror stories. I like to read all sorts of books like from grotesque to romance. I’ve been writing since I was 15. I can beta read and I used to be a professional figure skater. Recently wrote a story called “A Vile Veracity”.

I am afraid I need to put the mod hat on for a moment and ask you to remove the request for feedback from your post.

While we do have many members who request and give feedback, the site does have a 50+ post minimum before sharing your own outside of a select few threads in SYW.

SHARE YOUR WORK FOR CRITIQUE: All Your Questions Answered Here has most of what you will need to know to participate in our SYW forums. Critiquing others is a good way to participate and get up to fifty posts.

Beta Readers, Mentors, Writing Buddies has its own set of pinned threads and the same 50+ post minimum before you can begin a thread requesting a beta reader of your own.

There is no post requirement to BE a beta reader, though, and if some of your first 50 posts are exploring that possibility, you'll definitely earn some good will.

Basically that. Until you reach fifty posts, there is some setting that won't let you start a thread in SYW. There is a similar restriction for starting a thread to request a beta reader. I am fuzzy on the software side and the settings. I just know it won't let you start a thread in those areas until you hit fifty posts.

I would encourage you to read the pinned thread I linked to, that explains SYW in far more depth. The second link goes to the Beta Readers area of the forum. There are several pinned threads there.

Now, if you look at the left side of your post. Under your avatar, you see Messages: 5. That means you have posted five times so far. Forty five posts to go until you are at 50+ posts.

I typically right contemporary romance but plan to dabble in fantasy romance in the future. I like to read mostly romance and fantasy romance but I'm venturing out into other genres like thriller horror and crime. I haven't beta read before but i'm open to it as well!
I'm working on my second story and don't have a name for the first or second yet but feel really good about them so far and would love to exchange work/stories sometime!

You can see how many posts you have on the forum where it says messages. When that number goes over 50 you should shortly get the Super Member title. Then you can post your own work.
As you explore the forum there is a lot of things to see.
