I'm excited to be here and chat with fellow writers!

I began writing seriously in high school and decided halfway through college to major in creative writing. During my college career, I completed a short story anthology and poetry book, several screenplays, a novella, and my first book. I've been planning and working on a multi-volume series.

My choice of genre has changed - I used to read mostly literature, and write psychological thrillers, horror, and some supernatural fantasy and sci-fi. Lately, I'm interested in romance in the form of novels, web comics, and shows. My newest project (NA) combines supernatural fantasy with romance. Not sure why I have a sudden interest in romance (could be from reading Anne Rice throughout high school), but I'm rolling with it. So far I'm not hating the progress I've made.

I don't have experience in beta reading, but I'm used to critiquing works since that was what most of my college writing classes involved. I'd be happy to read something and give my thoughts and opinions.

In my free time, I play Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage (it's a rhythm game), watch shows (I have a giant list I need to get through), read comics (another huge list) and books, and watch video game gameplays on Youtube. I used to create videos for my Youtube channel and stream every now and then, but I sort of burned myself out.

Good thing I never get burned out while writing... ha ha... ha.

Nice to meet you! If you're used to offering feedback, the Share Your Work board for any genre you read--nearly all of them!--would be delighted to have you. Just make sure you don't resurrect something so old it died a natural death.

Of course, anyone who reads can beta read, but it's a bigger commitment by far. We hope you'll get acquainted here a bit first, so we can get to know you and vice versa.

Maryn, glad you're here

Yay! I'm looking forward to it.

Welcome!

I am working on outlining my second romance novel so i'm glad to hear you have also began writing romnace despite it not being the norm for you!

I enjoy reading romance thriller, horror, mystery and fantasy myself so if you are looking for open beta readers, I am one of them.

Good luck! I hope you have a blast here. :)

Thanks so much! Whenever I hit the 50 post requirement, my story will definitely be in SYW.

Welcome.

I began writing seriously in high school and decided halfway through college to major in creative writing.

Well, it's your money. Personally, I'd strongly suggest majoring in something else and then just minoring in creative writing... or using all of your elective credits on it or asking to sit in on classes without credit (which some professors will let you do, provided there's space)

...although I guess you might also be out of school now so it's too late to change that.

During my college career, I completed a short story anthology and poetry book, several screenplays, a novella, and my first book. I've been planning and working on a multi-volume series.

Good hustle.

Good thing I never get burned out while writing... ha ha... ha.

Writing-related burnout often doesn't last anyway.
