First Line of NaNo 2021

As the clock strikes midnight from Halloween to NaNoWriMo, what is that vital first line that starts your 50K journey?

Being in Australia, it's almost the end of the 1st for me so I (thankfully) have a first line. A boring one, looking at it on its own, but still.

"Cassie watched the sunlight play off the stone walls in front of her."
