What's the best way to find a professional sensitivity reader for my draft novel? Is it essential that I hire a pro for this task, or would it work to have other authors do it in a writer's group, for instance? Are there professionals out there who would do both sensitivity reading and standard editing at the same time?
Thanks for any suggestions or thoughts you may have.

Just so you know, once you have fifty posts here, you could ask for a sensitivity reader at the Beta Readers board. You'd want to describe what you need pretty clearly.

It's entirely possible there are professional editors of good reputation who are also members of the group for which you need a sensitivity reader. I would not be surprised to learn of some. I know one, but because she's tangentially family, I don't recommend her here even if someone asks for someone like her.

You could also check out Fiverr for some good and affordable ones from all over the world. Just type sensitivity reader in Fiverr's search bar, and you should be good to go. Of course, the more specific you are with your search terms, the faster and better results you'll get.

It depends what kind of sensitivity reader you need. I needed people of a certain ethnic origin, sometimes, of a certain religion, in other cases, or of a certain profession.

In the cases where there were no people of such countries in my country, I had as sensitivity reader a teacher of that culture, also certified translator for books from/ in that language, so she was well acquainted with the culture and understood well what I wanted to do.

When I wanted people of a certain profession or ethnicity available in my country, I found sensitivity readers on FB groups of that culture/ profession. Two strong friendships emerged from this... One with a Russian Old Believer and one with a Danube river sailor.
