The only advice I've seen over the years for this specific issue is write to market, in a genre people read obsessively, and release on a predictable and frequent schedule.

All of this is highly focused on building audience and generating income.

This doesn't seem to be a basic writing question? I'm not able to sort things at the moment, but tomorrow I can ask that this be moved to the Self Promotion area.

I need advice about getting traffic to my writing platform. I don't have a huge social media following.
There is a lot of advice out there for this kind of thing. Some good, some not so good. I've researched marketing at length. And I've tried a lot of things. I'll be honest, not a lot of what I've researched has actually worked. The only thing that has worked best for me, is targeting one social media platform, and pouring a lot into it to get people to subscribe to my newsletter. I can pick up about 100 newsletter subscribers by hosting a giveaway and paying to advertise the giveaway on Facebook for like five days. But in order to keep your subscribers opening your newsletters, you have to keep it interesting for them. Sometimes I'll run a contest asking my subscribers to pick the name of a character for my next book. Whoever picks the name I love the most gets an autographed copy of one of my books, etc. Get creative, and have fun with it. Involve your subscribers in your writing process. I hope this helps.

Moving this to a more appropriate spot. Keep your safety harnesses fastened until the light goes off.
