Can I update my Query while I wait for the Agent's response on a Full read?

I had a request from an Agent I pitched to at a conference for a full and sent it using Query Manager. Based on feedback from the conference, I'm rewriting my query. Is it okay to update the query on the QM application and if so, should I email the agent to let her know of the change? It's only been a few weeks since I sent it and I don't want her to think I'm pushing so soon. So maybe just change it and let it be?

I know the general advice for a significantly-updated manuscript when an agent has a previous iteration of the full has been "get in touch, let them know, offer them the update if they want it/haven't already started reading." I can't recall what consensus - if any - has been about the query. tbh, my own gut feeling is that changing it without mentioning it might be seen as weirdly sneaky (you don't know if she's already looked at it, maybe copied it into her own tracking system, etc. etc.) though I'll readily concede to others with stronger views.

For sending a reworked query to other agents? Sure, why not write something that might work better.

For sending a second query to an agent who already has the full or agents you already sent a query to? I don't see the point.

If an agent already has the full manuscript, what's the benefit of sending them a revised query letter?

This is what I get for not reading properly. Yes, if the agent already has your full, you're presumably past the point where a query makes a difference either way.

As @Brigid Barry says, save the new one for the next query.

Point taken. My fear was that when she my turn came up in her queue, she'd read the query to remind herself which project it was and be turned off. Overthinking, I suppose. The mind plays tricks as it waits for the phone to ring...

Hopefully when you submitted you started it with "I met you at such and such a place and you invited me to submit".
