Punchy short reviews of six books about the biodiversity crisis:
  • The Song of the Dodo by David Quammen
  • The Unnatural History of the Sea by Callum Roberts
  • The Hidden Universe: Adventures in Biodiversity by Alexandre Antonelli
  • Silent Spring by Rachel Carson
  • The Value of a Whale by Adrienne Buller
  • Rebirding: Rewilding Britain and its Birds by Benedict Macdonald
  • The Sixth Extinction by Elizabeth Kolbert
I've read three of 'em (Quammen, Carson & Kolbert). I plan to read the other three over the holidays.

Only read Silent Spring, but I work with preservation and am a total insect nerd. I'm a little wary with books like that because they make me so depressed :( I try to keep my hands dirty and doing whatever I can do to counter-act it, one added piece of dead wood or one restored pasture at a time.
