Audio without ACX

I'm interested in having an audio version of my novel on Audible, partly because I've heard it has a great return on investment, partly because I like the idea of improving accessibility.

But! ACX isn't available in France. I've heard it's possible to use other services. Did anyone try anything different? How did it work out?

I have a friend who narrates audiobooks and is a fennec fox furry. Maybe you could set something up directly with them? Assuming the book is in English, of course, I don't think they parlez-vouz francais.

I have narrated a couple of Audio Books too. I posted them on Youtube and he posted them on Facebook. Its not as widespread as Audible but youtube is pretty universal.

Thank you! That's oddly appropriate lol. The novel is in English, yes. If you don't mind sharing their name by PM I'll take a look at their books.

I did mine through Audiobooks Unleashed. I can't say I'm overly happy with them, as they appear to be a fly by night outfit that literally operates out of a New York apartment, but they port to a lot of audiobook retailers and I have enjoyed a fair amount of sales through them, and mostly from ACX.

It it were me starting over again, I would have gone directly to ACX and then maybe secondarily through AU, but as much reservation as I have about them, they are worth checking out as their terms are favorable compared to others.

Look at Authors Republic maybe. I distribute wide through them and they have an option for Audible/Amazon on there. (I go direct through ACX so don't use that option but it is there.) Another option may be to use Findaway Voices.
