Oh! Oh! That can be the theme of our next contest!

*SHOWDOWN*

Only, of course, in the spirit of SPACE, it would be any sort of showdown our li'l poetry machines can think up.

:greenie

It would be harder.

With so many of the usual suspects *not* in the game, I'm wondering who all these 25 people are? How cool! that so many have stepped up.

Also, those prizes are fabulous, Steppe. I was just looking them over again. For winners it will be a hard choice! Well, unless you come in sixth and take what's left. But there isn't a bad prize in the lot.

Makes me wonder what other treasures are in that library of yours!

Poets are concerned with poetry; we don't have time for mere poems.

I'm not into poetry or poems. I just like being a poet. Dudes dig chicks who are poets.

(Actually, in my experience, most men get a panicky look in their eyes if you mention you write poetry, fearing at some point you might want them to read it. I usually keep it to myself.)

The poems are up here.

Read, savour, agonise, update your signatures, enjoy.

Space Bards: *please* check your poems in the thread, and let me know whether they appear as you expected. Thanks.

It's listed on the main forum page and the Poetry Forum page, right under the link to the forums.

But after all these years, people still ask. I'd be open to suggestions to make it unmissable.

1. Excellent!

2. Does this thread not serve the purpose? We could close this one and start a new one... or retitle this one. I'm game for whatever.

either is fine, i'm sure. there's something appealing to me about a fresh discussion thread, but i have no strong preference. if this one is to be repurposed, changing the title from 'announcement' to 'discussion' would make sense.

In the Castle, of course.
Since it's still here and no other "space" exists (see what I did there? ;)), I want to say I just did the initial read through the entries. Magnificent job, everyone.

I already know which one I will likely put in the #1 slot of my vote when voting opens. It is the only one that gave me the most delicious chills when I read it. I reread it after I had finished all of the poems and the same chills washed over me. I love that!
Bravo!

It's going to be hard to choose three. I could maybe easily choose seven or eight, but only three?

(My vote is keep this same thread for any discussion, and change the thread title to reflect that.)

the only reason i would disagree is for those just coming in fresh. they would see all of the contest criteria in the OP and pages and pages discussing the lead-up to submission, before it just radically changes gears to discussion of entries.

i think i am now more strongly in favor of a pristine discussion thread. my opinion...

Okay. I'm easy. Also lazy which is probably why I said keep this same thread. But it's Rob's call I guess.
