I couldn't find anything on him at Editors and Preditors, Writer Beware, or the AAR web site. If you Google him, more titles come up from the Amazon.com pages, and World Ahead Publishing has a press release saying Alexander Hoyt is their new domestic rights agent - http://www.worldaheadpublishing.com/news/rightsagents_press.php. The press release isn't dated.

ETA: My next step would be to look at the publishers he's sold to (Do they accept unagented submissions? Do they pay advances? Are their books in bookstores?) and contact some of the authors he's represented recently to see what their experience has been, how long he's been their agent, etc.

After nearly five years, I figure a note's due that he's still active and selling to Viking and the like.
