Anna Olswanger left Liza Dawson Agency in 2014 to start her own. Could use more info, if anyone has any.

She's my agent (since before she left Liza Dawson), and she's fantastic. I'm in touch with many of her other clients and they feel similarly. She hasn't given up on me even after my first publishing deal fell through. When she has a project she believes in, she will go the extra mile. Keep in mind she's no-nonsense and will not stroke your ego. This took a while for me to get used to, but I don't need warm fuzzies; I need someone who will go to bat for me and help make my book the best it can be.

As mentioned, she does represent mainly children's authors who are also illustrators, but she also takes nonfiction and memoirs such as mine.

FWIW, I queried her this morning and received a reply within an hour:

"I’m only taking on author-illustrators (not authors) of graphic novels and picture books as new clients."

I'm curious if anyone's heard anything about this agency or had recent dealing with them. I queried
Madison Scalera some time ago, but her own website has gone defunct, it seems, and Olswanger's website has no direct info about its agents (only link to those agents' websites).

Does anyone know anything about Daniel Niv, who is a literary associate at Olswanger?
She's listed on Query Tracker, has a MSWL page and QM form, but there are no deals or clients I can find.

A simple search reveals that she's a brand-spanking-new agent. A Writers Digest article from August 2024 mentions she recently completed an internship with Olswanger and was taken on as an agent afterward. (So I'm assuming all that is very recent, rather than reporting on it after the fact.)

Her lack of listed deals/clients is likely because she hasn't had any deals yet (although she may have clients who she hasn't sold -- and, honestly, if an agent hasn't sold a client's work, it looks weird to list those clients; I'm more wary of an agent who lists unsold clients than one who lists no clients at all).

tbh, I hadn't noticed that Olswanger *had* multiple associates, partly because the site is laid out a bit funny. I'd queried Anna herself back in September and got a quick response that she was only considering author-illustrators at the moment. I'll have to go back and look at the others, so thanks for the heads-up.

I believe she's located in Germany. I sent her a query and got a rejection back in 9 days, so she had a good turnaround time, at least.

Their website is AWFUL. I actually didn't query at first because I looked at it and it was terrible and unprofessional. I found out she's sold books and went back through the website again and found the links to other people. But it is a truly awful website that they should consider redoing because it's not doing them any favors, IMO.
