Is anyone using this instead of Adobe InDesign? Seems to have a slightly smaller userbase, though just as dedicated. Plus, it's a one-time purchase, not a subscription, which I really like.

I've laid out the last 4 books in Word, but I'm starting a new series soon, so thought it might be an opportune time to look at new/different ways to do things.

I use Affinity Photo for cover design and have really enjoyed it. I bought Publisher, but haven't started using it for interior book design. I think I need to watch some more tutorial videos before I feel comfortable. There are tons on YouTube, if you need help figuring stuff out.

I love that it is a one time fee with free updates whenever they improve it. I hate subscriptions. Blah.

P.S. I have had trouble with the Affinity programs being VERY slow at times and often crashing. I figured out if my computer is on all day, it does this. But if I work on it when my computer is "fresh" it works a lot better. I'm not a computer whiz so this might mean absolutely nothing and just be a coincidence.
