Er, we had one this morning at about 4:30. I was half nekkid as I was just getting dressed from my shower. Makes for an interesting morning.

Looks like a 5ish centered somewhere north of us from the prelim. reports, but I'm waiting for more official news.

Good times. Very good times.

Nothing like snatching a sleeping child out of bed while yelling, "Christopher! Earthquake!"

It was felt here in Tennessee. I did, but only because I was already awake.

I woke up. The clock said 4:30.

I said "WTF!"

Didn't have to pee. Dog wasn't nosing me. Went back to sleep.

Heard about the earthquake when I turned on the news at 6:30.

I always miss the fun things! Or I'm right in the middle of them (OK - a couple hundred miles away) and don't even know they are happening.

My husband has slept through two earthquakes. As much as I apparently value sleeping, I notice when the whole house (or hotel) feels like a pitching train car.

I'm up at 4:30 in the morning because an earthquake shook me out of bed.

Here is VA we have the ocassional wallop! I was around 12 or 13 the last time I remember feeling the earth move. Not counting this time, can you remember it happening before?

TInk,
Welcome to AW (just in case I forgot to welcome you earlier). I can imagine how frightened you were. Any damage to you or yours?

My first thought was that my dog needed more flea medicine. That was until I realized my entire house was shaking!

I felt one here about 20 years ago. Ugh, I'm so old.

Wow! I saw some pictures on CNN. It looks like it made a mess in places! What a hassle. Just the earth reminding us that it's here.

I regret that I have lived my entire life on geologically stable strata.

Earthquakes? What are those?

Apparently, the quake was felt even here in West Michigan, though farther south than I am. I guess I could have slept through it though...but I doubt it, I don't think it was felt this far north.

Thx for the welcome. No, just some pictures askew and rearranged decor on shelves.
