Does ANYONE know how to find out (without going through the publisher) how many books that Amazon has sold of a particular book or is their anyway of looking at a sales ranking that can even put you anywhere near the ballpark of a number? The same goes for Barnes and Noble. I'm trying incredibly hard to prove someone's sales figures wrong but have just run into one brick wall after another. Please help if you can I've only got a few uninjured brain cells to go.

I don't know of any exact correlation kay, but you might get some idea here. (http://www.fonerbooks.com/surfing.htm)

You could check Ingram's stock numbers for the books (you can get sales for the year by calling them), but this would not give you a complete picture, as there are other suppliers.

You can getthis by calling 800-937-8000 option 4 ext. 36803.

Amazon's sales rank can only give you a general idea of how your book is doing that day--or even that moment, not how it is doing cumulatively over the life of the book. My sales rank has recently fluctuated by as much as 80,000 in the space of two days. The number is not a cumulative sales rank.

You can track your book's sales on Amazon over time by using Junglescan (http://www.junglescan.com/).

Thanks, Frank. I didn't know they fixed it. It was broken the last few times I looked so I forgot all about Junglescan.
