Well...after over four months and countless nails bitten off, I finally heard from one of my fulls, one that by now I'd discounted anyway. Yep, you guessed it: After careful consideration, we've decided that your book does not fit our agency.:cry::cry:

Ohhh, I'm sorry, App. But keep on plugging away, it's just one old rejection, that's nothing!

Thanks for your sympathy. I need it tonight. And donroc, I could use a night cap, maybe two! If nothing pans out from these full requests, I think this manuscript will have to be sent to the Old Unpublished Novel Home.

I think this manuscript will have to be sent to the Old Unpublished Novel Home.

Or maybe just to the Novel Rest Home for a few weeks, then on to Revision Therapy!

If the track record in your signature is for this book, it looks like it's getting some serious attention. Don't give up too soon! Remember, GWTW was rejected 132 times!

i'm waiting for the same bad news.
except it's only been a month for me.
and not even two weeks for the dream agent.

Dry your eyes right now! Their opinion is not the ONLY reflection of your work. Don't reject yourself.

Take it from me. I've been rejected more times than a bucktooth doofus at the Playboy mansion. (Terrible similie, but I just wanted to make you smile.) Did it work? :Sun:

App, please please please don't give up! I'm right where you are in terms of requests and rejections stats, and I'm not giving up. You might not find an agent until the 100th query goes out, but how will you know until you get there?

Meanwhile, keep working on the next thing, and cast your line again.

yes, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts.
Dust off, move on - it's the only thing you can do.
So sorry - big hug.

WELL...another one...note the graciously in my sig. She said she liked the book, thought I had an interesting twist at the end, found some of the dialogue between the two MCs "profound." BUT...she didn't thing her blankety-blank agency was right for it. Something about Hollywood disliking "westerns" (book is set in the Civil War era). There you go. I've got one more full before the "Old, Unpublished Novel Home."
