View Full Version : OLD MAN WINTER'S LAST FLING

The old guy came through today with an outstanding performance with huge snowflakes gently falling to blanket everything in sight.
It was as though he asked forgiveness for the brutal winter he'd imposed since January.
Stunned at the snowflakes' size, I went outside to capture a few and then study their unique individual configurations.
As we all know, there's no snowflake like another.
Today's flakes were so large, there was no need for a magnifying glass.
Once back indoors, I then thought of how very different from one another, is each and every human.
Why, then, do so many folks try to be like someone else !?

The March Lion is spitting rain mit donner und blitzen here. Just to be different, I suppose. But cold.

If people were snowflakes they would still be flaky.

snowflakes are angels. they're so delicate that they melt when they touch the sin of the skin.

if you would have used the magnifying glass, you would have seen them screaming with their little red angel mouths.

Hi Upbeat,

I envy you the ability to find beauty in late snowfalls. When I was living MN, I was sick to death of the stuff by Feb.

CACTUS WENDY - Perhaps the wise designer of it all - including snowflakes - was trying to remind us of something.

Matera the Mad - Re/your mention of flaky snowflakes:
That thought had crossed my mind as well.

William Haskins - Re/ your 'snowflakes are angels' comment -
I had a different snowflake landing site for them - not my skin - a dark plastic surface.
...just in case!!

shakeysix -Re/your dandruff similarity question -
I have no dandruff; but their flakes are no doubt all the same crudy old stuff.

William Haskins and Bmwhtly - Why do I have a feeling you're both from the South ?

Beautiful snowflakes
as unique as the genetic
stamp of a human,
as such they all fall
and melt into a puddle
of mud, genes and all
