Mirny Diamond Mine, Siberia

Itís the largest open diamond mine in the world. At 525 meters deep with a top diameter of 1200 meters there's even a no-fly zone above the hole due to a few helicopters being sucked in.

Sucked in by what? ::::shudder::: Dang, that thing reminds me of the desert mouth-monster in Return of the Jedi.

ROFLMAO!

If a diamond mine belches, I'd like to be there.

That top one looks like a black hole in the earth.

Is this the fate of my side yard, which has sunk more than a foot in the last ten years?

Maryn, who won't park on it no matter how many cars need to fit

The first one looks as if it's going to cave in at any time. Why would someone choose to live by a big hole in the earth. Cause it's cool?

Duh

Very cool. Talk about sink holes. It's hard to believe that much earth and rock can give way. Also, it looks like the third and forth pictures are of the same mine. The light spot above the hole in the forth is the processed residue that has been removed.
