View Full Version : A Movie About You!

Imagine you're a famous writer. Some producer wants to make a movie about your life.

Which actor/actress would be perfect to play YOU?

Rob-rite
03-29-2005, 07:05 PM
Does it have to be one of the current bunch or can we choose any actor, living or dead?

Hmm, I'm a 40ish white male...when I was young, I was pretty ahtletic, into sports...but I also liked heavy metal, wore alot of black...then came that whole '80's thing...I found myself actually trying to follow fashion, wearing the latest look...pastels, even pinks (a touch effeminate)...professionalism in the 90's, suit and tie, power lunches...then the kids came, I slowed down, quit work, but got back into athletica and health (for the kid's sake). I think who ever played me in a movie would have had to go through the same kind of changes....

I've got it...Demi Moore!

Well, Rob, how is a dead guy gonna play you?

E.G. Gammon
03-29-2005, 07:11 PM
Paul Rudd. He's just always reminded me of myself in a way. Plus it doesn't hurt that he is 5x hotter than I am... Ha ha. (But, if I'm good enough, I wouldn't mind ATTEMPTING to play myself.)

Paul Rudd. He's just always reminded me of myself in a way. Plus it doesn't hurt that he is 5x hotter than I am... Ha ha. I was going to say - he's one of the guys I forgot to mention on the 'hunk' thread... http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/flylicker.gif

I've always imagined Jodie Foster, for the same reason - lots of similarities, but she's hotter than I am :D

For a younger me, the woman (she's 30) who plays Grace on Joan of Arcadia. Very strong resemblance to my younger self.

mommie4a

WELL...who I'd like and who'd be perfect - two different things!

Who I'd like, haha, Meryl Streep or Diane Lane (Streep is older than me, Lane is only a year or two younger).

Who would be a good fit, for real: Helen Hunt.

Mmm, I suppose you're right but I wasn't being rhetorical, I was asking a valid question. What if, say, your perfect answer was Humphry Bogart or Mae West? D'you see what I mean? :)

All qualities I hope to achieve by the time the script is finished!

I've already written the screenplay. Trouble is, she's getting too old to play the part. (It ends with me at age 23 or so.)

P.S. This is not because of any physical resemblance. I just need an actress who can play verge-of-insanity well.

I think it would be a hoot to be Pesci's size, at least for a few days. I could get discounts at Toys R Us and half-priced movie tickets, and...and...

Of course, they probably wouldn't let Pesci-sized folk on the cool rides at Disney World. You know, the ones with a sign that says, "You have to be this tall ------- to ride." But then, I can't get on most of the damn things now, so no biggie.

Like this? Who are the people bottom center and right?

Mac - I'd say Cate Blanchett.

 :roll:Hmm, mind if I borrow Ray on the short leash for an erotica story? Since I assume he's not fully leash-trained, I won't use the choke-chain. Yet.

Okay, I realize I'm resurrecting a dead thread here, but I was telling a very good friend of mine about this discussion and he says Amy Madigan could play me.

I've only seen her in Uncle Buck that I can remember and she is almost 20 years older than I am, but I'm thinking it's not too bad of a choice. I'd really have to see her in some other stuff to know for sure.

Sorry, Ray, maybe you're not the best choice to play me, but I'll let you play the role of my husband later tonight, how 'bout that?

I love Amy Madigan! And I think she's beautiful.

The two people I've been told I look like are both, um, dead:
Carrie Hamilton (Carol Burnett's daughter) and Nicole Brown Simpson. I don't get the latter, but apparently other people do.

I hope they mean when she was alive.

I guess it'd be hard for us to pick someone else to play us because we usually don't see ourselves the way others see us, ya know?

Oh well, nobody's knocking down my door with a movie deal, but it is fun to think about. :)

I'm still sort of stunned and flattered by the Cate Blanchett suggestion...Heh--and Ray has seen me in RL

Poppy, Yes! I can totally see a younger Amy Madigan as you!

Yeah Amy... I love her in Fields of Dreams -- a guys' chick flick.

And Mac, you're SO Cate Blanchett. ;)
