just visited bella and read this. there's an easy pace to it, interestingly juxtaposed to the horror of the narrative.

i think it's a very brave and compelling piece. thanks for the link to it.

You did a wonderful job of description...not too much but enough for the mind to say "oooh yuck, gross,...kinda neat".

A couple of words got me to pause, re-read, then try to read the whole thing again:Whaddyamean and Whatchoo do. Inflections of language should be shown through the character and not dialogue. Let the reader know a woman is a "Southern Belle" and the reader will read her dialogue that way (or his/her interpretation of it), with the accent etc. Let the reader know a man is an English Butler and the reader will read the dialogue that way. That's half the fun of being a reader...our minds form the character by what is told, including the 'lingo, accent, and inflections'.

Did the story 'disturb' me? Oh yea! It worked!
