do agents handle magazine articles too?

Once you get an agent of course they handle any future books you write. But what about magazine articles and the like? Do writers continue to send stuff like that out to magazines on their own, just like always, or do they submit everything through their agents, from then on in? Thnx.

Agents may be willing to handle big-ticket magazine submissions for their clients--the ones that pay thousand of dollars for an article, such as Atlantic or Time or The New Yorker. Otherwise, you send stuff out on your own, just as you did when you were unagented.
