so the other day when emailing a query I sent it to an agent that wanted both a query and the first pages as a sample.

after painstakingly writing the query, and revising, and double-checking everything, and emailing myself the sample pages to make sure they were formatted correctly...I sent the query letter w/out the pages

after kicking myself repeatedly I couldnt decide whether to resend it or wait and see if they responded

both seem to point out my stupidity equally....

what would you do?

Resend. Just say "Whoops. I just reviewed my sent-mail and realized I sent the query/synopsis without the sample of writing. Here it is, sorry about the inconvenience."

You're human, it's a common mistake. I wouldn't stress. :)

No big deal, Bubbagringo. Just do what Irysangel suggested. It might help to make a draft of your query and sample pages in your email program, formatted correctly, so the next time you go to send it will be ready to go.

Here's to hoping for a positive response from the agent!

I did the same thing a couple weeks ago. Just send it again with an oops. I even got an email back saying, "okay, I got it this time." It's no big deal, people make mistakes.
