You get laid off from your job, and the second thing you think is "Now I'll have more time to spend on the AW forums!"

(The first thing you think is "Now I'll have more time to write!", and the third thing you think is "Crap, now I've got to find another job that comes with a regular paycheck.")

you check the boards 20 times a day and wonder all day at work what's been said and posted.

When you wake up the first thing you think about is going on AW.

You start comparing other board members' average number of new posts per day to your number, and feel like you need to keep up

Hey! don't laugh at me!

You spend 30 minutes trying to find a thread to post to for your 50th post (woohoo!) no matter what the topic is.

...you post something silly or stupid that you hope will give people a laugh, then actually subscribe to the thread in case you miss a reply.

...you routinely check the newbie thread to scare... um welcome all the new members

Top of the page. It says "Thread tools." In there -- subscribe to thread. Easy. I thought everyone knew.
