The party was scheduled for 7:30 PM. Why do people insist on arriving at 6:45? Why? I need time to get ready! Dammit. When I said 7:30 I really meant, you know, most people show up between 8 and 11. Why are some people compelled to show up 40 minutes before? Don't they realize the host needs time to get ready? I think it's rather rude... And not just one person. THREE, count 'em, THREE, showed up.

Next time I'm just going to answer the door naked.

Obviously, they intend to arrive early and then get out while the getting's good.

Plus, how the hell were they supposed to know you'd still be online looking at porn? I mean, seriously.

More importantly, how did YOU know he was looking at online porn?

The problem is, if you let that get out, and then no one shows up early, your ego gets bruised...

On the other hand, maybe everyone shows up even earlier...

Besides, what do you mean, you need time to get ready?

The ladies over in HOL are going to be rather disappointed to find that out.

Ah. Understood.

And by "understood" I mean I'll just assume that was code for "He's a subscriber to my secret 24/7 webcam that only Ray knows about here on AW, and I was doing naked-Twister that evening. So I'm sure Ray was watching. He's one of my best customers."

BTW, if the Navy needs any codes worked out, I'm clearly your girl! 'Cause, damn, I just rocked that code. Bam!

Duh.
That's what it means if anyone ever shows up to an event of mine early :D

It was always an automatic two-tenths deduction if my dates showed up early. Up to fifteen minutes late was fine, but that's your window.

Wow. I wouldn't trust a guy who was early. Seriously. Probably a serial killer or something.

What guy shows up early?!?!

That's what it means in my world to. It's like oh great you're here! You can do these stupid tasks so I can get a shower! Yay!

And how do you know that they weren't trying to catch you naked?

It's to be hoped you take the cutest/richest one with you, to help wash your back, right?

I guess I'm going to skew the bell curve because I show up when I'm told. 7:30 means 7:30. And if it means missing Ray answering the door naked, then  my loss.

I'm always early so I can get the best parking spot. I'm anal that way. But usually I wait in the car until the appropriate time, like when the party is supposed to start, or a little after. And I also carry a spare towel in case Ray does, indeed, answer the door naked.

He has such cute buns, it's a shame to cover them up.

I am on time. You say 7:30, I'm there at 7:30 on the button. If you didn't want me there until 8, you should have said 8.

I hate people who are early and I hate people who are late.

What is so hard about being on time?

I was taught that you should arrive between 10 to 20 minutes late for parties because people need time to prepare and something will always go wrong with the preparations.

I was also taught if I arrived 10 minutes late and was first, that it was expected for me to help with the panicked preparations. You don't walk in the door expecting to be entertained. Putting the hosts at ease that you will finish the decorations, cut the vegies for the dip, and answer the door while they take a quick shower is appreciated.

Never arrive on time for a party.

Arrive ten minutes early for business meetings, always.

Had I arrived early, I would have silently stood outside your door and waited until the appointed time arrived. Only then would I have pulled your bell-rope.

Lateness is something I really cannot abide, especially when you've made the effort to get ready with a little time to spare. I'm really anal about time-keeping.

However, Maestro, I also understand your gripe entirely. When we have get-togethers at the house you're guaranteed the guests will arrive at least an hour early. Pisses me right off when I haven't even managed to get some grub down me (I would've had it an hour ago had they turned up on time) and they're crowding-up the kitchen.

Greenwich Meridian Time is in place for a bloody reason!!

Apparently I need my coffee fix, because this sounded almost... poetic.

Sorry Ray, but I can't be late, I just can't (but I was afraid you would snap me in the behind with your wet towel if I said that.):D On the good side, I gladly pitch in and help.

Seriously. In today's society, it takes an obsessive level of planning to show up anywhere on time, let alone early. It's probably a sure sign that the person has their sock drawer alphabetized.

Sorry Ray, that'd be me. We're usually 15 minutes early. Since we're rural, you often have no idea what it's like between you and your destination.

But, we often get there and pitch in to help whatever is left to be done. If you're early, you should help. It's polite.
